Manatees resting at the bottom of a pool

Welcome to the Jacksonville Zoo!  They recently opened an few new exhibits, Manatee River & Dinosauria, which is an animated dinosaur exhibit.  So I decided head over and walk around for my weekend hike, and took my camera with me, (I really need to learn all these settings before I head out west).

The new entrance is all about Manatee River!  I got to talk to one of the employees and the desalinization/filtration system keeping the Manatee River perfect for the sea moo-moos, and it’s massive!

Without further adieu, here’s my amateur photography attempts. 🙂

Below you will find the GPS path I took. This is mainly for my own use however, this can give you an idea of the distance and elevation in the area.

Total distance: 2.06 mi
Max elevation: 22 ft
Min elevation: 5 ft
Total climbing: 117 ft
Total descent: -109 ft
Total time: 01:36:53

Happy camping!
See you on the trail!
